Snail on Blackberry leaves, butterflies, and bees hive

Thunder and Ocean have enjoyed all the red strawberries they could find over last few days, Ocean is impatient wanting to pick anything that can be picked- leaves, white and green berries also. They have enjoyed full pods of sweet shelling peas. I am drooling over the broad beans, and am not sure when exactly to pluck them off. Anticipating a delicious meal though.

WAITING TO SEE WHAT THEY WILL BE...

WE DROPPED SOME MISC SEEDS IN A PATCH OF SOIL NEAR THE COMPOST BINS...
The sprouting has begun and Thunder checks each day to see the progress. I know some are yellow beans, and some were pumpkin seeds, so we will have to see if any were viable. The yellow beans look like they have poked through already- but I will let thunder figure that out.

LETTUCE FLOWER,PEA SHOOTS,LETTUCES, VALARIAN

BEEANS BEANS BEANS...
Hooray for our broad beans. They look like the beans they will be now. The blossoms are fading on the lower ends and have turned into the bean. Photos to follow,
The strawberry plants that we planted inside a cement cinder block are lush and the others planted directly into the soil are looking much further behind. Both planted same day. So the tip I took from the CAROLYN HERRIOT book is proving to be a good one. We planted another row of them in a built in cement fixture, we'll see how that works.
garlic is looking good still, and the new transplants are managing well despite hot hot hot sun days.

Mark Captures honey bee swarm

So it was raining and in the evening the photos are merely for documentations sake- but HE DID IT!! Only stung 5 times...even he says to not want to be stung again. WE let them stay in the box he caught them in untilafter midnight...That is when we both suited up and began to place them in our hive. Poor Ocean woke up inside and Mark feels she may have been adversely affected when he brought her to the window to see me- in what he says looked like a space suit! She was ok in the days following.

It seems as though the bees are happy to be with us. It has been since sunday night that they were in our hive and appear happy
